По принцип съм скептичен към модове, особено руски, но half Life offshore е изключително добре направен мод, който по обем е приблизително колкото двата епизода взети заедно. Дизайнът на нивата е изключително добър, има доста екшън, само пъзелите са без подсказки и насочващи елементи, тъй че често се налага да се въртиш на дадено място, само защото знаеш, че там не може да няма нещо, което да те изведе на следващото ниво. На мен лично ми липсваше d0g, но пък знам, че на много хора няма да им липсва Аликс, тъй че като цяло браво от мен на разработчиците на мода – чудесна работа са свършили.

Бях играл първата част с голямо удоволствие – приятен екшън с елементи на ужас (horror). Втората й част ми хареса даже още повече поради следните причини

Играта съдържа открити пространства този път и битки в градски условия с разрушен пейзаж, което заедно с психо-смущенията напомня на STALKER, но направен както трябва (имам предвид енджина и сюжета). Хареса ми, че елементите на ужас не са прекалено често и не са плоски – във филмите от този жанр разчитат да уплашат зрителите най-често с плоски номера от типа на рязък шум или появяване извъднъж на нещо страшно, което действа първосигнално. Тук е въздействието е на по-високо ниво и не е съвсем стресиращо, както да кажем в Doom, който наистина е способен да убие съня ти.
